CISF Honors 19 for Defending Uri Hydropower Projects During Operation Sindoor

  • Teams executed door-to-door evacuations that moved about 250 civilians, including NHPC staff families, to bunkers under heavy cross-border shelling.
  • CISF units reported neutralising hostile drones, reinforcing defensive positions, maintaining POLNET and satellite communications, and securing armouries by redistributing weapons.
  • The response was led by Commandant Ravi Yadav with Deputy Commandant Manohar Singh and Assistant Commandant Subhash/Subash Kumar at installations located roughly 8–10 km from the LoC.
  • Officials said operational details were withheld for months due to sensitivities and were formally shared with the commendations, with the infrastructure and civilians reported safe and unharmed.
