The film is based on the 2021 book by Irish author Claire Keegan and reveals truths about Ireland’s Magdalen laundries, horrific asylums run by the Roman Catholic Church for 'fallen women'.
Murphy plays the role of a devoted father and coal merchant named Bill Furlong, who discovers unsettling truths about the Magdalene Laundries in 1980s Ireland.
The film is directed by Tim Mielants and produced by Murphy along with Alan Moloney, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and others.
The Berlin International Film Festival will run from February 15-25.
