Overview
- The Counter Intelligence Kashmir unit carried out searches at roughly eight locations across Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kupwara, Handwara, Pulwama and Shopian.
- Police said the searches were executed under a warrant from a competent court tied to an ongoing terror investigation.
- The Indian Army reported contact with militants in Kishtwar around 8 pm on September 19 with an exchange of fire and continuing operations at the Doda–Udhampur border area.
- Security forces said they believe three to four suspects are holed up at the Kishtwar site as the cordon-and-search continues.
- In a separate Poonch operation, Army and J&K Police dismantled a hideout and recovered an AK‑series rifle, four AK magazines, 20 hand grenades and other warlike stores.
