Ciara Nolan Extradited From UK, Charged Over 2017 Killing of Jamie Tighe-Ennis

The case advances under a trial-on-indictment direction following her surrender on a post-Brexit warrant.

Overview

  • The 46-year-old, originally from Artane with an address in Birmingham, is accused of facilitating a criminal organisation in the commission of the murder between October 27 and 28, 2017.
  • She was surrendered on a Trade and Cooperation Agreement warrant executed by UK authorities with the Garda Extradition Unit and was arrested at Dublin Airport before being charged.
  • She made no reply when charged and was remanded in custody to appear on January 14, with any bail application confined to the High Court.
  • Judge Treasa Kelly noted that the DPP has directed trial on indictment, a book of evidence has yet to be served, and free legal aid was granted after a means statement.
  • Jamie Tighe-Ennis, 24, was shot twice in the head at Moatview Avenue in Priorswood, and a stolen Audi A3 linked to the attack was later found partially burnt out in Finglas; she is the second person charged after John Farrell, 59, was accused last year of aiding the gang by sourcing a car.
