Churchill Downs extends Bob Baffert's suspension through 2024 citing integrity concerns

Churchill Downs is extending Bob Baffert's suspension through 2024 due to concerns over the integrity and safety of horseracing.
The initial two-year ban came after Baffert's horse, Medina Spirit, failed a drug test following the 2021 Kentucky Derby.
Churchill Downs accuses Baffert of disregarding rules and regulations and promoting false narratives about the failed drug test.
Baffert claims he did nothing wrong and followed the rules, blaming a topical ointment for the positive test.
The matter will be reevaluated in 2025, but until then Baffert is banned from participating in the Kentucky Derby and other races owned by Churchill Downs.
