Church Shooter Receives Life Sentence

Robert Findlay Smith was sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing three people at an Alabama church dinner in June.
Smith pleaded guilty to capital murder and waived his right to appeal.
The victims were Walter "Bart" Rainey, Sarah Yeager, and Jane Pounds, all aged 75 or older.
The families of the victims agreed to allow Smith to plead to life instead of facing the death penalty.
The motive for the shooting is still unknown.
