Church Sets Open House and Dedication for Willamette Valley Oregon Temple

Located in Springfield, the temple marks a third site for Latter-day Saints in Oregon, planned as the Church’s 216th operating house of worship.

Overview

  • A public open house will run April 23–May 9, 2026, excluding Sundays, following a media day on April 20 and invited‑guest tours on April 21–22.
  • Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf will preside at the dedication on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 10 a.m., with a broadcast to the temple district and a 2 p.m. rebroadcast.
  • During the open house, guests of all faiths may tour the single‑story building with an introductory video and guided explanations of each area.
  • Upon dedication, the Springfield temple will become Oregon’s third, joining the Portland temple (dedicated 1989) and the Medford temple (dedicated 2000).
  • The project was announced for Eugene in April 2021 by President Russell M. Nelson, received the Willamette Valley name five months later, and broke ground on Oct. 29, 2022, under Elder Valeri V. Cordón.
