Overview
- The temple is planned as a single-story building of about 18,500 square feet with an ancillary building.
- The site covers nearly seven acres at East 36th Street and South 8 East Avenue in Yuma.
- Once built, it will be Arizona’s westernmost temple, roughly six miles from California and 17 miles from Mexico.
- When dedicated, it is expected to become the state’s seventh operating temple, serving about 450,000 Latter-day Saints.
- The project stems from President Russell M. Nelson’s April 7, 2024 announcement and sits alongside Queen Creek and Flagstaff temples in planning.
