Chrome Enhances Security with Real-Time Safe Browsing and Privacy Protections

Google's latest update aims to significantly reduce phishing threats while ensuring user privacy is maintained.

Google has upgraded Chrome's Safe Browsing feature to provide real-time protection against phishing and malware by checking sites against a server-side list.
The new system uses privacy-preserving techniques to ensure that no one, including Google, can see the websites users visit.
Safe Browsing's real-time protection is now available on desktop and iOS, with Android support coming later this month.
Chrome on iOS also receives an update to its Password Checkup feature, flagging weak and reused passwords in addition to compromised ones.
The upgrade aims to block 25% more phishing attempts, enhancing security for over 5 billion devices protected by Safe Browsing.
