Christopher Nolan Elected President of Directors Guild of America

The vote positions the 19,500‑member guild for upcoming negotiations with studios on streaming residuals, safety, AI protections and creative rights.

Overview

  • Nolan was confirmed at the DGA’s biennial national convention by 167 delegates and ran unopposed.
  • He succeeds Lesli Linka Glatter, who led the union through two terms beginning in 2021.
  • Delegates also installed a full leadership team, including Laura Belsey as national vice president and Paris Barclay as secretary‑treasurer, with Todd Holland, Ron Howard, Gina Prince‑Bythewood, Seith Mann, Millicent Shelton, Lily Olszewski and Joyce Thomas in vice‑presidential and treasury roles.
  • The AMPTP congratulated Nolan and said it looks forward to partnering with the new leadership as talks approach.
  • The current contract runs through June 30, 2026, and the guild’s priorities include foreign streaming residuals, set safety and safeguarding creative rights, areas where Nolan has chaired key DGA committees.
