Overview

• Caron, 42, turned himself in to Scituate police at about 12:45 p.m., was booked, and was taken to the Plymouth House of Correction.
• He is charged in the death of Declan Perry, 27, of Portland, Maine, whose body was found on Aug. 23 in his Honda Civic outside South Shore Hospital.
• A hospital unit coordinator discovered Perry unresponsive in the rear seat wrapped in multiple blankets secured with duct tape after the hospital contacted Weymouth police at about 2:07 p.m.
• Investigators say Caron drove Perry’s car to the hospital, alerted staff to a body in the vehicle, and left before Weymouth police arrived.
• Neighbors at 40 Driftway, Unit 13, in Scituate reported helping load a heavy blanket into the Civic, prompting a search that seized evidence as State Police assisted and the medical examiner has yet to release the cause of death.
