Christmas Day Fires in Argentina and Peru: Youths Rescue Neighbor as Lima Warehouse Blaze Is Contained

  • Around 5:50 a.m. in Coronel Pringles, five locals aged 16–20 pulled a 52-year-old neighbor from his burning home before first responders arrived, and he remains in intensive care with a guarded prognosis.
  • Fire officials in Argentina said the blaze began in the garage, destroyed that sector and left parts of the house at risk of collapse.
  • The Coronel Pringles case is being examined by Bahía Blanca fire investigators and Policía Científica, under UFIJ No. 9.
  • In Lima’s Rímac district, a warehouse fire on Av. Francisco Pizarro was declared code 4, drew roughly 30–35 firefighting units and was extinguished after about four hours with hydrant and tanker support.
  • Peru’s health services reported at least one person treated for smoke inhalation, with later updates citing two patients, as police maintained perimeters, residents were evacuated and stored synthetic, leather and wood materials near a gas station heightened hazards.
