- Major chains will close on Dec. 25, including Walmart, Target, Costco, Sam’s Club, Aldi, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Kroger, Publix, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Macy’s and most grocery groups.
- Convenience and pharmacy options remain limited but available, with 7‑Eleven, Circle K, Sheetz and many Wawa locations open, and CVS and Walgreens operating on reduced or location‑specific hours.
- Select regional supermarkets under Albertsons, Safeway and Vons may open with shortened hours, and some ethnic markets such as H Mart and 99 Ranch often operate with location‑dependent schedules.
- USPS post offices will be closed with no mail delivery, and standard UPS and FedEx pickup and delivery are suspended; banks and U.S. stock exchanges are closed, as are courts and government offices.
- Most retailers shorten Dec. 24 hours—Walmart to 6 p.m., Target to 8 p.m., Costco to 5 p.m., Sam’s Club to 6 p.m., and many grocers closing early—while select restaurants and movie theaters open with varied hours.
