Christine King Farris, Sister of Martin Luther King Jr. and Civil Rights Leader, Dies at 95

Christine King Farris, the last living sibling of Martin Luther King Jr., dedicated her life to furthering her brother's civil rights legacy.
Farris was a founding board member of the King Center, which she helped establish to promote social change and preserve her brother's memory.
She experienced immense tragedy, including the deaths of her brother, mother and other brother, but remained a source of strength and perseverance.
An educator for over 50 years at Spelman College, Farris also authored children's books and a memoir about her family's role in the civil rights movement.
Farris marched with her brother, supported him financially and worked alongside Coretta Scott King to advance the cause of equality and justice for African Americans.
