Christian Friedel, the Dresden-based actor, gained international recognition for his portrayal of Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höß in 'The Zone of Interest.'
The 2024 Oscar-winning film, directed by Jonathan Glazer, was awarded Best International Film and Best Sound.
Friedel has turned down multiple offers to play Nazi roles, expressing a desire for fresh challenges in his career.
He mentioned he might reconsider such roles only for exceptional directors, citing Quentin Tarantino as an example.
Currently, Friedel plays a hotel director in the hit satirical series 'The White Lotus,' available on Sky and Wow in German-speaking regions.
