The exhibition at Dongdaemun Design Plaza reimagines 80 years of Dior’s couture legacy through immersive galleries and local artistic collaborations.

Overview

  • The Seoul edition of ‘Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams’ is open at DDP’s Art Hall 1 from April 19 to July 13, 2025, showcasing nearly 80 years of Dior’s creative history.
  • Designed by OMA partner Shohei Shigematsu, the exhibition blends fashion and architecture with Korean cultural elements, marking the fourth collaboration between Dior and OMA.
  • The centerpiece, ‘The Garden,’ features a 12-meter-tall moon jar inspired by the madang of traditional Korean hanok homes, alongside hanji paper installations by artist Kim Hyun Joo.
  • Themed galleries such as ‘Dior Legacy,’ ‘Lady Dior,’ and ‘The New Look’ incorporate Korean materials like bojagi patchwork and hanbok fabrics to create a dialogue between East and West.
  • Works by Korean artists Kim Hyun Joo, Soo Sunny Park, and Zadie Xa, along with reinterpretations of the Lady Dior bag, further root the exhibition in its local cultural context.
