The Baseball Writers’ Association of America has announced the finalists for the 2024 Cy Young Award, highlighting standout performances in both leagues.

Chris Sale, pitching for the Atlanta Braves, achieved the NL Triple Crown with 18 wins, a 2.38 ERA, and 225 strikeouts.
Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers led the AL with 18 wins, a 2.39 ERA, and 228 strikeouts, marking his first playoff appearance with the team since 2014.
Zack Wheeler of the Philadelphia Phillies and rookie Paul Skenes of the Pittsburgh Pirates join Sale as NL finalists, each having career-best seasons.
Emmanuel Clase of the Cleveland Guardians and Seth Lugo of the Kansas City Royals are the other AL finalists, both delivering impressive performances in their respective roles.
The winners of the Cy Young Award will be announced on November 20, with Sale and Wheeler considered frontrunners in the National League.
