Chris Rock to Direct Martin Luther King Jr. Biopic Produced By Spielberg's Amblin Partners

Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to Jonathan Eig's biography "King: A Life" to adapt for the biopic.
Chris Rock is in final talks to direct and produce the film, which will be his first dramatic feature in years.
Steven Spielberg and his company Amblin Partners will executive produce the project.
The biography provides new intimate details and insights into King's life using recently declassified FBI files.
The biopic will portray a complex view of King and comes as Rock is also working on a film about civil rights leader Bayard Rustin.
