Overview

  • A stolen Infiniti pursued by CHP briefly on May 28 veered off 12th Avenue near East 21st Street and struck two pedestrians on the sidewalk.
  • A man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene and a woman in her 40s was hospitalized in stable condition.
  • CHP officers ended their chase before the crash, arrested the driver on foot and are investigating the stolen vehicle while OPD probes the fatal collision.
