- Six others suffered minor to moderate injuries, with patients taken to Desert Regional and Eisenhower medical centers, and the 38-year-old truck driver was hospitalized with serious injuries.
- Near Coachella, a Toyota Camry driving west in the eastbound lanes struck a Honda Accord head-on, killing the 71-year-old Camry driver and both people in the Accord, including a 50-year-old woman from Phoenix.
