• Authorities say occupants of two vehicles exchanged gunfire on eastbound Highway 24 near the Highway 13 connection around late Thursday afternoon, striking multiple uninvolved cars.
• A pickup that was hit pulled over while other drivers later reported bullet damage after reaching home, according to the CHP.
• The suspect crashed near Walnut Creek, tried to run, was arrested, and a firearm was recovered; he was booked into Santa Rita jail on attempted murder and shooting-from-a-vehicle charges.
