Overview
- The statewide Holiday Enforcement Period runs from 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 to 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 1.
- Officers will focus on impaired driving, speeding and other violations through saturation patrols, with local agencies staffing sobriety checkpoints.
- CHP units from Riverside, Blythe, Indio, San Gorgonio Pass and Temecula will patrol Inland Empire freeways, highways and unincorporated roads.
- The campaign aligns with county and municipal anti-DUI efforts, including saturation patrols and checkpoints led by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and local police.
- CHP notes 481 DUI arrests and 10 fatal crashes during last year’s New Year’s period, compared with 892 arrests during the 2023–24 campaign.
