Chorrillos Bans Camping and Bonfires on All Beaches for New Year, Sets Fines Up to S/2,800

Joint police patrols alongside targeted limits at Agua Dulce aim to reduce holiday risks.

Overview

  • The municipality expects about 40,000 people at Agua Dulce and has activated a coordinated operation with the National Police.
  • Camping with tents or temporary structures is barred from the night of Dec. 31 to the early hours of Jan. 1, with the rule applied districtwide to beaches such as La Herradura, La Costanera and La Chira.
  • Lighting fires, using grills or barbecue equipment, and staging bonfires are prohibited on the sand.
  • At Agua Dulce, authorities will block the entry of alcoholic beverages and food for the festive day to ease enforcement and protect the beach environment.
