Chopard Debuts L.U.C Grand Strike, a Triple‑Chiming Tourbillon at Dubai Watch Week

Its purpose-built calibre uses monobloc sapphire gongs with dual COSCGeneva Seal certification.

Overview

  • The watch unites Grande Sonnerie, Petite Sonnerie, and Minute Repeater functions using square‑section sapphire gongs tuned to a C#–F chord for greater clarity and volume.
  • Powered by the in‑house L.U.C 08.03‑L movement, it packs 686 components with a 60‑second tourbillon and a stop‑seconds feature for precise setting.
  • Two separate barrels deliver a 70‑hour power reserve for timekeeping and at least 12 hours of autonomy for the sonnerie in Grand Sonnerie mode.
  • Chopard cites more than 11,000 hours of R&D with HEPIA, 10 proprietary patents including five developed for this model, and a three‑month endurance test of 62,400 chime cycles per watch.
  • Revealed on November 19 after Geneva previews, the 43 mm ethical white‑gold piece features a single slider for G/P/S mode selection and is slated for very limited annual production of roughly three pieces.
