Choice Hotels Overhauls Choice Privileges for 2026 With New Titanium Tier and Faster Rewards

The redesign targets emotional loyalty with faster gratification, drawing on feedback from more than 2,500 travelers.

Overview

  • Most changes take effect Jan. 1, 2026, including reduced elite thresholds by five nights at each tier to 5/15/35 nights for Gold/Platinum/Diamond.
  • Elite status can also be earned through new Elite Qualifying Credits tied to hotel spend and Choice co‑brand card spending, with Frequent Miler reporting up to 10x EQCs in bonus categories.
  • The new Titanium tier requires 55 nights or 110,000 EQCs and grants one annual travel award to book up to seven consecutive reward nights at 400+ select properties for half the usual points.
  • Members will receive milestone rewards every five qualifying nights between tiers and 1,000‑point Return & Earn bonuses after their second and third qualifying stays each year.
  • Recognition protections include no points expiration for elite members, a one‑tier status soft landing starting in 2027, and points sharing/pooling set to launch later in 2026 with full details to come.
