Chocolate Nonpareils Recalled Nationwide After Undeclared Milk Found

Overview

  • Weaver Nut Company initiated the recall on June 17 after a wholesale customer’s complaint and lab tests detected milk proteins in semi-sweet nonpareils labeled milk-free
  • On June 18 the FDA published an official recall alert listing affected lot codes for white-seed and Christmas-seed semi-sweet nonpareils
  • Lipari Foods expanded the recall on June 20 to include JLM Branded Dark Chocolate Nonpareils following notification from Weaver Nut Company
  • No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date in connection with any of the recalled products
  • Consumers with milk allergies are urged to check lot numbers on their packages and return affected chocolate nonpareils to the place of purchase for a full refund
