Overview

• The incident occurred on September 25 at Nagaravanam Park near Murakambattu, where assailants allegedly posed as forest staff, threatened two youths, snatched a gold chain and raped the girl.
• An FIR was registered on the night of September 29 after the male companion, who first reported a robbery, later disclosed the sexual assault during police questioning.
• Investigators identified the accused as M. Mahesh, P. Kishore and J. Hemanth Prasad of Chittoor, and said efforts are underway to trace and arrest them.
