Chipotle testing avocado-prepping robot to speed up guacamole production

Chipotle has developed a robot called Autocado that can slice, core and peel avocados to reduce guacamole prep time.
Autocado can process up to 25 pounds of avocados at once, potentially cutting prep time in half from around 50 minutes.
The robot prototype is being tested at Chipotle's California facility, but plans are unclear if it will be rolled out more widely.
Autocado handles the labor-intensive avocado prep work, while employees still hand-mash and mix in other ingredients.
