Chipotle Returns $6 Margaritas on Five-City October Tour

The limited run lets the chain meet long-running fan demand while testing a narrowly scoped way to serve alcohol without a full nationwide rollout.

Overview

  • Chipotle, which announced the 'Summon the Spirits Tour' Monday, will sell its five-ingredient margaritas at one store in each of five cities on Fridays and Saturdays in October from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. local time.
  • The tour stops are Denver (Oct. 2–3), Brooklyn (Oct. 9–10), Dallas (Oct. 16–17), Los Angeles (Oct. 23–24) and New Orleans (Oct. 30–31) with the final stop timed to coincide with Chipotle’s Boorito promotion on Oct. 31.
  • Each margarita will cost $6, be limited to customers 21 and older, and use premium tequila, triple sec, citrus juice, agave nectar and a fresh lime wedge.
  • Dallas will offer an additional frozen margarita variant at its stop, and participating restaurants will feature margarita bars, Halloween decorations, interactive experiences and prize opportunities to drive foot traffic.
  • Chipotle phased out the original five-ingredient margaritas in 2020 because of operational challenges and changing liquor-license policies, and the tour lets the company respond to nostalgia while avoiding the regulatory and logistical hurdles of a wider alcohol program.
