Chino XL's Family Confirms Rapper's Death by Suicide

The rapper had been battling depression, congenital heart failure, and stage 4 prostate cancer.

Chino XL, born Derek Keith Barbosa, died by suicide on July 28 at the age of 50.
His official cause of death was asphyxia due to ligature hanging, confirmed by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Chino XL had been diagnosed with congenital heart failure in 2020 and stage 4 prostate cancer earlier this year.
The family shared this information during Suicide Awareness Month, hoping it might help others struggling with mental health issues.
Legal action is being pursued against an individual who allegedly leaked the rapper's posthumous album online.
