Chinese Player Pang Renlong Banned 12 Years, Fined $110,000 for Tennis Match-Fixing

The sanction caps the ITIA’s latest push targeting a syndicate-driven fixing network at lower-tier events.

Overview

  • Pang, 25, admitted fixing five of his own matches on the ITF World Tennis Tour between May and September 2024.
  • He also made corrupt approaches in 11 additional matches, six of which were fixed, with the ITIA tying his activity to 22 matches overall.
  • The suspension runs through 2036 with credit for provisional time served, and $70,000 of the $110,000 fine is suspended.
  • He is barred from playing in, coaching at, or attending any event sanctioned by the ATP, WTA, ITF, or national federations.
  • Cases spanned tournaments in Turkey, Hong Kong, and mainland China, and the ruling follows a recent 20-year ban for France’s Quentin Folliot linked to a match-fixing syndicate.
