Chinese National Arrested in Germany for Alleged Espionage on Defense Logistics

Yaqi X. accused of passing sensitive airport information to suspected Chinese spy linked to German far-right aide.

Yaqi X., 38, was detained in Leipzig on suspicion of spying for Chinese intelligence services.
She allegedly provided details on flights, passengers, and military cargo at Leipzig/Halle Airport.
The information was reportedly passed to Jian G., a former aide to far-right MEP Maximilian Krah, who was arrested in April.
Prosecutors believe Yaqi X. spied on behalf of China's secret services between August 2023 and February 2024.
The case is connected to espionage activities involving the German defense firm Rheinmetall, a key supplier to Ukraine.
