Chinese Comedy Firm Fined Millions Over Army Gag Gone Wrong

China fined a Shanghai comedy company nearly $2 million for a joke by one of its comedians that offended the public and violated rules.
The joke by comedian Li Haoshi, who goes by the stage name House, upset many and broke regulations according to authorities.
The case has divided Chinese over what kinds of jokes cross the line as stand-up comedy becomes more popular.
The company, Shanghai Xiaoguo Culture Media Co, blamed "major management mistakes" and fired Li.
The company has been fined before for ads seen as demeaning to women.
