China's Shenzhou-17 Crew Successfully Returns to Earth

The astronauts completed a six-month mission aboard the Tiangong space station, marking another milestone in China's expanding space program.

  • China’s Shenzhou-17 spacecraft returned to Earth on Tuesday, landing in Inner Mongolia with astronauts Tang Hongbo, Tang Shengjie, and Jiang Xinlin on board.
  • The crew conducted 84 in-orbit experiments and brought back over 400 material samples from space.
  • Their mission included two spacewalks to repair damage to the station’s solar arrays and overseeing the arrival of the Tianzhou-7 cargo resupply mission.
  • The Shenzhou-18 crew has already taken over, continuing scientific work with plans for more than 90 experiments and multiple spacewalks.
  • China's ambitious space program continues to grow, with plans to expand the Tiangong space station and train new astronauts for future missions.
