China’s Rare Earth Magnet Shipments to U.S. Jump 660% in June

Eased export licensing from a June trade accord drove a sharp month-on-month rebound in shipments.

Overview

  • China’s exports of rare earth magnets to the United States climbed to 353 metric tons in June, marking a 660% increase from May.
  • Total magnet exports rose to 3,188 tons in June, up 157.5% month-on-month but still 38.1% below June 2024 levels.
