China’s EV Push Quickens as Xiaomi Recalls 116,887 SU7s via OTA and Huawei Partners Ramp Launches

Software-led recalls highlight intensifying ADAS scrutiny.

  • China’s market regulator disclosed that Xiaomi will recall 116,887 SU7 Standard vehicles built from Feb. 6, 2024 to Aug. 30, 2025 to address L2 highway NOA edge-case handling via an over-the-air upgrade to HyperOS 1.10.0.
  • Avatr launched the 2026 Avatr 07 from 219,900 yuan with Huawei QianKun ADS 4 and HarmonySpace 5, offering range-extender and 800V BEV variants with up to 650 km CLTC range for the two-wheel-drive EV.
  • Huawei-backed Enjoy S9T began first customer deliveries starting at 309,800 yuan, featuring ADS 4, full-sensor perception and an 800V battery platform, with over 10,000 firm orders in its first 72 hours.
  • Huawei ecosystem momentum continued as the Wenjie M8 improved delivery capacity with the pure-electric model moving into scale deliveries, while the Shangjie H5 entered pre-production of popular trims for potential 1–4 week delivery after its Sept. 23 debut and exceeded 100,000 preorders.
  • BYD’s Yangwang U9 Xtreme opened reservations as a 30-unit global limited run and posted a 6:59.157 Nordschleife time, built on a 1,200V platform with quad high-speed motors and track-focused hardware.
