China Posts Record $1.2 Trillion 2025 Trade Surplus, Customs Data Show

- Total goods trade reached $6.4 trillion in 2025, with exports up 5.5% to $3.8 trillion and imports flat at $2.6 trillion.
- ASEAN emerged as China’s largest trading partner at $1.1 trillion, followed by the European Union at $828 billion, with the United States ranking third.
- U.S.–China trade fell 18.7% to $559.7 billion, as Chinese exports to the U.S. dropped 20% and imports declined 14.6%.
