China Orders Recall of 116,887 Xiaomi SU7 Standard Cars for L2 Pilot Safety Fix

Xiaomi is deploying a HyperOS 1.10.0 over-the-air update as the remedy, which replaces no hardware and is limited to vehicles built through August 30, 2025.

Overview

  • China’s market regulator issued the recall covering SU7 Standard vehicles produced from February 6, 2024 to August 30, 2025, with formal recall IDs S2025M0149I and S2025M0150I.
  • The notice cites insufficient recognition, warning or handling of rare extreme scenarios when the L2 highway pilot is engaged, increasing crash risk without prompt driver intervention.
  • Xiaomi says affected owners can complete the recall by installing HyperOS 1.10.0, which is being pushed OTA at no cost and requires no physical parts replacement.
  • The update introduces safety changes including a new dynamic target speed, optimized assisted‑driving speed control, and improved interactions around large vehicles for smoother highway travel.
  • Non‑safety additions include a camera beta using multiple exterior lenses, parking offset assist with memory, full‑cabin K‑song, a rear‑seat tablet car mode, and expanded high‑quality music sources.
