Overview
- The existing visa exemption for short visits now runs until 31 December 2026, according to China’s tourism office.
- Eligible travelers may stay up to 30 days for tourism, business or family purposes.
- From 20 November the arrival card becomes digital, replacing paper forms at airports and border crossings to speed processing.
- Visa-free entry requires a passport valid for at least the planned duration of stay, the German Foreign Office advises.
- The Chinese Embassy in Germany recommends carrying documents that show the visit’s purpose, such as flight tickets and hotel bookings.
