China Extends LEO Internet Constellation With Long March Launch as Star River Raises 24 Billion Yuan

Private milestones signal rising commercial readiness for China’s satellite internet expansion.

  • State media reported a Long March 6A from Taiyuan successfully placed the Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group-11 payloads into their planned orbit on September 27.
  • Star River said the Zhishenxing-1 reusable liquid rocket completed a full second-stage systems hot test at the company’s propulsion test center.
  • The company disclosed a 24 billion yuan Series D round that it says will accelerate development and buildout for the Zhishenxing series and the Gushenxing-2 vehicle.
  • According to Star River, Gushenxing-2 (Y1) finished assembly, testing and rocket–transporter matching, passed factory review, and is slated to attempt an inaugural one-rocket, six-satellite mission soon.
  • August launches previously advanced constellation deployment, with Groups 08–10 sent to orbit on Long March 5B/YZ-2, Long March 6A and Long March 8A.
