China Expands Visa-Free Travel to Japan and Eight European Nations

China has reinstated visa-free travel for Japanese citizens, allowing stays of up to 30 days, starting November 30, 2024.
The policy also adds eight European countries, including Bulgaria, Romania, and Croatia, to China's visa-free entry program.
This marks an extension of China's visa-free program, which previously allowed 15-day stays for visitors from select nations.
The updated policy will apply to a total of 38 countries and is part of efforts to promote tourism and economic activity.
China had paused visa-free travel for Japan during the COVID-19 pandemic and had resumed it for other nations earlier in 2023.
