China and Belarus Conduct Joint Military Drills Near Polish Border

The exercises come amid growing defense ties and regional tensions involving NATO and Russia.

The 11-day drill, named Eagle Assault 2024, is taking place in the Brest region of Belarus.
This is the first joint military exercise between China and Belarus in six years.
The drills include airborne assault, river crossing, and counter-terrorism operations.
The exercises are occurring less than 300 miles from a U.S. Army base in Poland.
Belarus recently joined the China-led Shanghai Cooperation Organization, strengthening its ties with China and Russia.
