  • At around 3:50pm on July 15, emergency services were called after a bus struck a nine-year-old girl near the junction with Platt Grove on New Chester Road.
  • The girl was taken to hospital for assessment of a head injury and has since been confirmed to be in stable condition by Merseyside Police.
  • New Chester Road remains closed between Woodward Road and Dell Grove under a police cordon while authorities examine the scene.
  • At least 12 police cars, two ambulances, a rapid response paramedic vehicle, and an air ambulance attended the incident.
