Harrison Butker has been activated from injured reserve after recovering from knee surgery and will play in the Chiefs' Week 15 game against the Cleveland Browns.
Matthew Wright, who filled in for Butker and recently secured a game-winning field goal against the Chargers, has been released despite being named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
During Butker's four-game absence, Wright and Spencer Shrader combined to successfully convert 11 of 12 field goals and all eight extra points for the Chiefs.
Butker, one of the NFL's most accurate kickers, has made 18 of 20 field goals and 21 of 22 extra points this season and is nearing 1,000 career points with Kansas City.
The Chiefs, already AFC West champions at 12-1, aim to secure the No. 1 seed in the playoffs, with Butker's return expected to bolster their special teams unit.
