Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has shown interest in competing in flag football at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Flag football was officially announced as an Olympic sport last month by the International Olympic Committee; Mahomes might join the U.S. team if he's still physically capable by then.
A number of NFL players have expressed interest in representing their country since flag football was added to the Olympic games.
NFL executive vice president Peter O'Reilly said that the league will work with all 32 clubs and the NFL Players Association to ensure that NFL players get the chance to compete in the Olympics.
One of the biggest challenges faced by Mahomes and other interested NFL players is getting their teams to approve their participation in Olympic flag football.
