Chiefs Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo Receives Multiple Head Coach Interview Requests

Steve Spagnuolo, currently the Kansas City Chiefs' defensive coordinator, has been requested for head coaching interviews by the New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Spagnuolo, a four-time Super Bowl champion, has been instrumental in the Chiefs' defensive success since joining the team in 2019, including their No. 2 defensive ranking in 2023.
The 65-year-old coach has prior head coaching experience with the St. Louis Rams and served as the interim head coach for the New York Giants in 2017.
Spagnuolo's potential departure has prompted speculation about his successor, with Chiefs defensive backs coach Dave Merritt publicly supporting him and being considered a possible candidate for Kansas City's defensive coordinator role.
As the Chiefs have a first-round playoff bye, Spagnuolo is eligible to conduct virtual interviews this week, with in-person interviews restricted until later in the postseason.
