Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Abuse Allegations Involving Rashee Rice

The club notified the league after the mother of Rice’s two children posted photos on Instagram alleging years of abuse.

Overview

  • Dacoda Nichole (also reported as Dacoda Jones) shared images of bruises and home damage in a Jan. 7 Instagram post, alleging a years-long pattern of abuse by the father of her children.
  • Her post did not name Rice, and the Chiefs’ statement also avoided naming him, but both referenced allegations circulating on social media.
  • The Chiefs said they are in communication with the NFL and offered no further comment; the league declined to comment in some reports.
  • As of late Wednesday, reporters found no publicly filed police reports or criminal charges tied to the Instagram claims in Overland Park, Kansas, or in Dallas, and Rice had not publicly responded.
  • Rice previously pleaded guilty in a 2024 Dallas high-speed crash and served a six-game NFL suspension in 2025, and the NFL may review the new claims under its personal conduct policy.
