Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah Marks 10 Years of Stretch Music With Blue Note LA Residency
The shows coincide with new releases, led by a Sept. 12 Robert Glasper single plus an album due Sept. 19.
Overview
- Adjuah will curate Sept. 22–24 performances at the new Blue Note Los Angeles to honor the 2015 Stretch Music album and premiere new works.
- He released “Take Off Your Cool” featuring Robert Glasper on Sept. 12, with a full-length record scheduled for Sept. 19.
- Sets will showcase his self-designed instruments, including the Oduwa trumpet, Siren trumpet, and the electric Adjuah Bow.
- Blue Note LA opened with Robert Glasper’s sold-out performances and is positioning itself as a West Coast jazz anchor.
- Further releases are planned, including the project “Jese vs. Kaiju” slated for next summer, following his 2023 album “Bark Out Thunder Roar Out Lightning.”
