Chicago Sports Network to Launch Free Over-the-Air Broadcasts for Blackhawks, Bulls, and White Sox

Starting October 1, Chicago sports fans can watch their favorite teams without a cable subscription as CHSN secures over-the-air and DirecTV deals.

The newly-formed Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) will broadcast Blackhawks, Bulls, and White Sox games over-the-air via WJYS and additional affiliates starting October 1.
CHSN is a joint venture between the three teams and Standard Media, aiming to reach fans who do not subscribe to cable or pay-TV services.
The network's over-the-air broadcasts will be available on WJYS Channels 62.2 and 62.3, with a high-definition signal and the ability to air simultaneous games.
CHSN is close to finalizing a carriage agreement with DirecTV, which will include the network in its channel lineup across Illinois and surrounding states.
The launch follows a trend of sports teams moving away from regional sports networks due to declining cable subscriptions and the financial struggles of traditional RSNs.
