Chicago South Side Shootings Leave One Dead and Three Injured

  • At around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, a 16-year-old girl was shot in the leg by someone firing from a gray SUV in a backyard in Grand Crossing and remains in serious condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
  • Roughly 30 minutes later in Englewood’s 7200 block of South Green Street, gunfire struck a vehicle, fatally wounding the female driver, who died after being hospitalized in critical condition.
  • Two passengers in that vehicle—a 20-year-old man shot in the shoulder and a 17-year-old boy shot in the elbow—are hospitalized in serious and good condition, respectively.
